Synopsis
A drama set in 1970s Sweden and centered on a young woman's experiences growing up in a home riddled with abuse and alcoholism.

Beyond is a 2010 Swedish drama film directed by Pernilla August, starring Noomi Rapace, Ola Rapace, Tehilla Blad, Outi Mäenpää and Ville Virtanen. The original Swedish title isSvinalängorna, which means "The swine rows" and refers to the housing project where parts of the story are set. The film is based on the novel with the same name by Susanna Alakoski. It was shown at the 67th Venice International Film Festival on 6 September 2010 and got the International Critic's Week Award.[1][2] The Swedish Film Institute submitted Beyond for a 2011Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film nomination.[3][4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyond_(film))

Pernilla August (born Mia Pernilla Hertzman-Ericson 13 February 1958) is a Swedish actress and director. She won the Best Actress Award at the 1992 Cannes Film Festival for her role inThe Best Intentions. Her international career includes the role of Shmi Skywalker in the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
